Bangalore, Feb 12, 2009: This is a show that no other aerial show in Asia can match. Aero India 2009 was launched here today in Bangalore by Indian defence minister AK Antony.
Aero India 2009 has been accepted as the largest air show in the whole of Asia and one of the biggest in the world. This biennial five-day event has come of age to become a strategic platform for global aerospace majors from the US, Russia, France, Britain, Germany, Sweden and Israel to pitch for the growing pie of the Indian military and civil aviation requirements, driven by a burgeoning economy.
As Indian military might gets mightier and Indian defence budget goes to the sky, the global majors from every country are vying with each other to steal an order. Any order can is not expected to be les than a couple of billions of dollars.
And at a time when recession has hit hard much of the world getting orders worth 2-3 billion is a big achievement for any world major.
Apart from a variety of military and civilian aircraft, helicopters and transport planes taking to the skies at the air-show, F-16 of Lockheed, F/A-18 of Boeing, MiG-35 of MiG, GAS 39 of Saab, Eurofighter, IJT, Dhruv, Hawk, C-17, Embraer 135 business jet Legacy 600 and Rafael of Dassault are stealing the thunder with their breathtaking manoeuvres and air power.
India’s opening up of the defence sector to foreign direct investment, the ongoing modernization plan of its Armed Forces and enormous new opportunities in the civil aviation sector have opened innumerable new avenues for investment.

Aero India Show 2009

Aero India Show was launched in 1996 by the Ministry of Defense. Aero India show is an Exhibition where the latest technologies and products of aviation industry are promoted and demonstrated. Aero India-Asia's Premier Air Show is a wonderful opportunity to observe, practice and promote the latest products, services and technologies for the aviation industry to a global specialist public. The air show includes presentations and exhibitions of military and civil aircraft of the largest producers, merchants and traders. This is a simple platform for the establishment of alliances and distribution of knowledge and networking with the industries of aviation in the world.
Aero India Show is the largest exhibition of aircraft and other aerospace products in India, organizing after every 2 years. It is the first Air Show in South Asia that attracts visitors in the success and a good number of participants and buyers from every corner of the world. The 4th edition in 2003 was well attended by nearly 176 exhibitors from 22 countries. Considering that the number has increased to 380 participants at the exhibition in 2005, and 2007 Aero View crosses the limit of the expectations of organizers.
Aero India 2009 exhibition will be held in Bangalore, India in February 2009. This year, with the development of the partnership between FICCI and Farnborough International Ltd, the show will have an economic activity. Aero India 2009 will begin in February 11 and continue up to 15 the same month.
